Playing for the Glory of God.
Our students excel well beyond the classroom! No matter whether they’re playing on the field or on the court, our students compete at the highest levels in athletics, bringing home championships at every level!
About Our Middle
School Sports Program
Our competitive athletics programs provide another fantastic opportunity for students to hone their leadership skills. At SRCS we believe all students should be part of a team. Therefore, no matter what your child’s athletic experience is, he or she is welcome to play sports. Our teams foster an atmosphere of excellence, teamwork, and personal growth.
The purpose of the Athletic Department of Spanish River Christian School is to advance God’s Kingdom through the use of athletics. We educate the whole person, focusing on spiritual, emotional, academic, and physical training. This department is built on a love for God, His word, and His people. Excellence as defined by Scripture is the standard for leadership, coaching, and competition. The Athletic Department’s dominant attitude is service to the Lord through thought, word, and deed.
We believe some of the greatest opportunities to teach students about advancing His kingdom are found on the athletic fields. Playing on an athletic team can help students work toward a common purpose, develop leadership, and strengthen relationships. Our desire is to develop the spiritual aspect as well as the physical skills of the athlete. Approaching athletics with a Biblical perspective builds good character, regardless of wins or losses. Memories made on the athletic fields can last a lifetime.
Varsity & Junior Varsity
SRCS offers both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams each season. Our goal is to balance strong participation with competitive excellence. Varsity teams are designed to prepare athletes for high school-level play, following similar rules and intensity. Junior Varsity teams focus more on skill development, though the level of competition remains high. All students must try out to earn a spot ona team.

Important Information &
Documentation
Any middle school student who wishes to participate in SRCS interscholastic sports must have a current athletic physical on file. A new physical is required each school year. Families may use either the school-issued form or the FHSAA form. Please note that athletic physicals are separate from the State of Florida Health Examination Form 3040, which is required for all 7th-grade students.
In addition, all students and families must read, understand, and follow the rules andexpectations outlined in the SRCS Athletic Handbook.
About the Gold Coast League
SRCS is a proud member of the Gold Coast League (GCL), a middle school athletic organization made up of independent schools located throughout Broward & Palm Beach Counties, FL. Their mission is to foster a positive and inclusive environment where students can develop physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Through a variety of athletic opportunities, they aim to inspire a lifelong love of sports, promote personal growth, and encourage the pursuit of excellence, both on and off the field.
