Summer Outreach And Recreation

Campers enjoy a summer of fun-filled, themed weeks of camp. Each week has a unique theme of indoor and outdoor activities, inflatables, camp cooking, arts and crafts, weekly field trip, and movie day. SOAR Camp is open to the public.  Junior camp is available for preschoolers age three (by June 1) through age five. Senior camp is available for children who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade.  The camp is divided into six "themed" weeks and will be open from June 11 - July 20, 2018.  Camp runs Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  Early Bird and Aftercare are available for an additional charge. 

Registration for camp will begin on April 3, 2018. Complete details are available in the 2018 Camp Brochure.  The Registration Form, and Camper Emergency Form will also be available online by April 3, 2018.

Junior campers are divided into small groups and follow a set schedule each day.  Activities include arts and crafts, computer, game room, gym, devotions, weekly outdoor water activities and special attractions. 

Senior campers  will participate in many on-campus activities within their age group including archery, computer, game room, sports, drama, devotions, and different weekly special events. Full-day campers may participate in off-campus field trips each week.

Week 1: Splash into Summer, Coconut Cover Water Park
  • Kick off the summer right at SOAR! Tons of sports and fun games.
Week 2: Minute to Win It, Off the Wall** 
  • Are you up to the challenge? This week will require teamwork with lots of "minute to win it" challenges.
Week 3: Hawaiian Hullabaloo, Movies** 
  • Campers will enjoy a taste of the tropics as we enjoy a multitude of summer activities.
Week 4: Stars & Stripes, South Florida Science Center and Aquarium**
  • (No camp on the 4th of July)
  • Oh say can you see...all the fun this week will bring, as we celebrate the great Red, White and Blue.
Week 5: Christmas in July, The WOW Factory**
  • This week we will have a Winter Wonderland as we celebrate Christmas in July with frozen hot chocolate, "snowballs", and more.
Week 6: All Star Sports, Bowling**
  • We'll bring out the champion within you this week as campers participate in a variety of sports challenges.

Camp runs from 8:30 a.m.– 3:30 p.m. Doors open at 8:15 a.m. for check-in. Early drop-off is available at 7:30 a.m. for an additional cost. 

Senior campers (K-6 th ) will be dropped off at the Gymnasium on the northeast side of the campus. Junior campers (Ages 3-5) will be dropped off at Building F on the southeast side of the campus. Campers arriving past check-in time must report to the Camp Office (Bldg. F, north side of the campus). 

Senior campers (K-6 th) who have a younger sibling in the Junior camp, will be brought over to the Junior camp building for dismissal. Senior campers who do not have a sibling in Junior camp will be picked up at the Gym, where they were dropped off. Junior campers (Ages 3-5) will be picked up at Building F, where they were dropped off. Any camper not picked up by 3:45 will go to Aftercare and a fee will be assessed. 

  • Senior campers should bring a morning and afternoon snack. Lunch is included in our camp tuition.
  • Junior campers who attend camp for a full day should bring a morning and afternoon snack. Lunch is included in our camp tuition for full-day junior campers.
  • Junior campers who attend camp for ½ day, should bring a morning snack and drink. 

Children should dress appropriately to participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Tennis shoes and socks are required. No sandals, platform shoes of any kind, open-heeled or open-toed shoes or roller shoes are permitted. Shorts must not be more than 4 inches above the knee. No tops with spaghetti straps or halter tops are allowed. For safety reasons no jewelry is permitted. On water days one-piece bathing suits are required for all girls. 

Yes, there will be weekly field trips (one day a week) offered for Senior campers ONLY. Campers who have just completed Kindergarten are invited to participate in select field trips. Campers will be provided with a camp t-shirt; campers are required to wear the SOAR camp t-shirt on field trip days.

Yes, Aftercare is available from 3:45-5:30 for an additional charge.
