Physical Education

The purpose of physical education is to develop the spiritual side, as well as the physical skills of the student, so that the total person may be developed and controlled by the Spirit of God (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Everything we do, including athletics, is for the purpose of glorifying Christ. It is our desire that our students possess and demonstrate positive, Christ-like character qualities, and express them openly through the medium of athletics.
Our school’s philosophy of physical education and athletics is to encourage and guide our students to exemplify Christ in whatever they do, with all their might (1 Corinthians 10:31, Philippians 1:21, and Ecclesiastes 9:10).

An emphasis is placed on cooperation and team spirit, leading to good sportsmanship. A variety of activities are used, including sports, games, creative movement, exercises, rhythmic activities, and aerobic conditioning.
Students will be evaluated in the following areas with a grade of Excellent, Satisfactory, or Needs Improvement:
  • Participation in class activities
  • Sportsmanship
  • Obedience and respect
  • Attendance and dress
  • Attitude and effort
