General Admissions FAQ's

  • Prospective parents are invited to visit our campus for a tour. Please call the Admissions Office at (561)994-5006 to schedule your appointment.
  • Parent only Kindergarten Observations are held each Fall. Please call for details. 
  • We also invite you to attend our Early Childhood Open House each January. Please call for details. 
  • Early bird care and after care are offered daily. Please refer to our Fee Schedule for times and costs.
  • Students in elementary school may participate in our after school Curriculum Enrichment program. The Curriculum Enrichment courses are offered per semester and the ages, dates and fees vary per course.
  • Students in middle school may participate in our competitive Athletics program. We offer multiple interschool sports for our middle school students and compete as part of the Gold Coast League. Visit our Athletics page for complete details. 
  • A limited amount of financial aid is made available for registered students in K-8 by the School Board of SRCS. Applications for financial aid must be submitted to the Scholarship Committee by April 1.
  • We partner with the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program, Step Up for Students, for low income children.  For the 2021-22 school year, we have reached our quota for the number of students that we accept under the Step Up program. 

  • We do not have special programs to accommodate learning disabilities.
  • Our core curriculum for preschool through middle school consists of Math, Science, Social Studies, English and Bible. Specials in preschool and elementary are Art, PE, Computer Lab, Spanish, Music and Library. An Enrichment rotation in middle school consists of Writing Workshop, Computer Lab, and PE. There is a daily Elective class period in middle school, as well.

Preschool Admissions FAQ's

  • Children attending our three year old program must be three years old on or before September 1st of the new school year (no exceptions).
  • Children attending our four year old (PreK) program must be four years old on or before September 1st of the new school year (no exceptions).
  • Children must be fully potty trained before entering preschool. No diapers or pull-ups are allowed at any time.
  • There is no admissions testing for preschool.
  • An Online Application and applicable application fee (see Fee Schedule) must be submitted once the portal opens in late January (in-house application) and early February (open application). See Application Timetable for dates and Application Procedures for specifics. 
  • Preschool roster spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • There is no admissions testing for preschool applicants.
  • Original birth certificates must be brought into the office for copying.

Kindergarten Admissions FAQ's

  • Children applying for Kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1st of the new school year (no exceptions).
  • All kindergarten applicants will be scheduled for a Kindergarten Readiness Screening subsequent to registration.
  • An Online Application and applicable application fee (see Fee Schedule) must be submitted once the portal opens in early January for Kindergarten Online Application. See Application Timetable for dates and Application Procedures for complete details.
  • Contact information for a current teacher (required) and pastor (optional) will need to be entered at time of online application so requests for completing online Confidential Teacher Recommendation (required) and Confidential Pastor Form (optional) can be emailed to teacher and pastor, respectively.   
  • Applicants will need to upload most recent Report Card/Progress Report at time of online application or submit the document to the Admissions Office via email.
  • Original birth certificates must be brought into the office for copying. 
  • A Kindergarten Readiness Screening will be scheduled subsequent to application. 
  • Completed application files will be reviewed by our Admissions Committee. 
  • Final applicants and their parents will meet with our Headmaster for a family interview.

Note: A minimum of one month is required for processing all documents.

Elementary Admissions FAQ's

  • Applicants for first through fifth grades will be scheduled for grade level assessments in both math and English subsequent to registration.
  • An Online Application and applicable application fee (see Fee Schedule) must be submitted once the portal opens in late January (in-house application) and early February (open application). See Application Timetable for dates and Application Procedures for specifics.  
  • Contact information for a current teacher (required) and pastor (optional) will need to be entered at time of online application so requests for completing online Confidential Teacher Recommendation (required) and Confidential Pastor Form (optional) can be emailed to teacher and pastor, respectively.   
  • Original birth certificates must be brought into the office for copying.

    • Most recent Standardized Test Scores 
    • Educational/Diagnostic or Psychological Evaluation (if applicable)

  • Final applicants and their parents will meet with our Headmaster for a family interview.

  • Contact information for a current teacher (required) and pastor (optional) will need to be entered at time of online application so requests for completing online Confidential Teacher Recommendation (required) and Confidential Pastor Form (optional) can be emailed to teacher and pastor, respectively.

  • Middle school applicants who have completed the admissions process / with completed admissions files may shadow for a morning. This opportunity is scheduled via our Admissions department.
  • All middle school students will have the opportunity to earn high school credit for 9th grade Algebra I in seventh or eighth grades. Students who successfully complete 9th grade Algebra I in seventh grade will have the opportunity to earn high school credit for 10th grade Geometry in eighth grade. Eighth grade students will also have the opportunity to take high school Spanish I as an elective.
  • Spanish River Christian School traditionally does not accept applications for new eighth grade students.
